DESCRIPTION
The mission of this programme consists in ensuring a high level of bachelor’s training in the field of designing and constructing medical products and systems, their appliance in healthcare, scientific and private clinics. The aim of this programme in professional training is to help graduates meet their needs for gaining universal, general professional, and professional competencies, which allow the graduate to successfully work in their professional field of activity, and to be a competent specialist, and which contribute to their social mobility and stability on the labour market.
AIMS
design and construction activity:
• identifying operation conditions and modes and designing features of biotechnical systems and medical products;
• developing technical requirements and specifications for designing and constructing biotechnological systems and medical products, as well as their components;
• designing and constructing biotechnical systems and medical products, as well as their nodes and details;
• implementing information searching activities to improve professional skills in linguistics and intercultural communication.
production and technology activity:
• developing technological processes and technical documentation for producing, assembling, setting and controlling biotechnical systems and medical products, as well as their elements and nodes;
• introducing metrological support and quality control of medical products and biotechnical systems, as well as their components;
• building and integrating biotechnical systems and technologies;
• ensuring technical maintenance of biotechnical systems and medical products;
• organising and implementing after-sales maintenance and service for biotechnical systems and medical products.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• establish technical requirements and tasks for designing and constructing biotechnical systems and medical products;
• implement mathematical modelling of biotechnical system elements and processes, to research them on the basis of professional packages of automated design and individually developed software;
• implement analysis, calculation, design and construction in accordance with the technical specifications of typical systems, devices, nodes and details of medical products and biotechnical systems at the structural, functional, schematic, technical and elementary levels, including with the use of automated design systems;
• develop technological processes and technical documentation for producing, assembling, setting and controlling functional elements, blocks and nodes of medical products and biotechnical systems;
• introduce metrological support and quality control of medical products and biotechnical systems, their elements, functional blocks and nodes;
• build integrated biotechnical and medical systems and complexes for solving complex tasks of diagnostics, treatment and monitoring of human health;
• implement technical maintenance for biotechnical systems and medical products in specialised enterprises and technical services in medical institutions;
• organise and implement after-sales maintenance and service for a biotechnical system and medical product.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Upon completion of this programme, graduates are able to work in instrument-making enterprises, factory laboratories of quality control and diagnostics, oil and gas, aviation, mechanical engineering industries, design offices and city metrological laboratories, research institutes, small businesses, building industry, and other industrial and civilian objects, as well as to work as specialists in maintaining modern medical technics in healthcare institutes, Ministry of Emergency Services, etc.
