Day of Turkish Culture held in PSU

On April 18, 2017 Penza State University hosted a festive event “Turkey is My Motherland. History. Culture. Traditions” as a part of the cultural marathon “Around the World in 2 Semesters”. The event began with performing the national anthem of the Republic of Turkey.

The concert was emceed by Suleyman Anil Akgun, Mustafa Degirmenci and Hamza Aras. Turkish students recited poems in the Russian and Turkish languages. They described famous landmarks, national cuisine, and customs of their people. Moreover they talked about Turkish hospitality, music and traditional arts, favorite leisure activities.

The guest of the event could completely realize the way of life in this fascinating country absorbed history of the whole world. Many guest were left with the impression that they had made a journey to ancient and present-day Turkey.

Sergei M. Vasin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that young people from Turkey were able not only to describe their motherland, its people, history and culture, but also to share their love of Turkey with others.
