PSU international students took part in the international TruD campaign
About 100 international students from Penza State University tested their knowledge of the Russian language by taking part in the international TruD campaign and the Total Dictation for Foreigners.
The event was organized by the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of PSU. This year, participants were given a unique opportunity to test their knowledge in the format of an exciting quest.
The author of this year's texts, the famous writer Marina Moskvina, addressed the participants of the event in a video message, emphasizing the importance of uniting people of different cultures through the Russian language. "To bring people, nations and cultures together through the power of words," she noted the importance of this public project.
Acting head of the department Olga Barabash welcomed the participants: "We are happy to welcome everyone who decided to test their literacy and take part in this important educational event."
The testing included a variety of tasks: from composing statements based on Przhevalsky's quotes to deciphering concepts that are difficult for foreigners (for example, "aerostat"). The participants also worked with illustrations for Marina Moskvina's story about her childhood, deciphered phraseological units and completed tasks to find matches.
After the testing part, the students wrote a traditional dictation in Russian.
The best results will be awarded special prizes from the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and partners.
The TruD campaign became part of a large-scale international project that united dozens of cities in Russia and countries around the world where Russian is studied as a foreign language.
