From December 15 to 20, 2024, the Expocentre in Moscow hosted the final of the Russian National Award "Student of the Year" - a unique competitive and educational project for students of educational institutions of the Russian Federation who have special achievements in academic, scientific, sports, creative and social life.

Nurgazy Kyzy Kanykei, a student of Penza State University from Kyrgyzstan, competed for the title of "International Student of the Year" from the Penza Region. The competition included several stages: self-presentation, a speech on the topic "Living in Russia", testing "Values of Russia", a business game. Moreover, the programme included a large number of entertainment events: concerts, performances by famous performers, activities at the forum "Your Move" and much more.

“The final of the Student of the Year competition was a real challenge and an unforgettable experience for me. When I went on stage, my heart was pounding with excitement, but at the same time I felt an incredible surge of energy and support. Each participant was unique, and I was amazed at how many talented and goal-oriented people gathered in one place. We all put our dreams, efforts and hopes into this competition. When the winner was announced, I experienced a whole range of emotions - joy for the winner, pride for myself and my friends, and also a little sadness that this stage of our lives was coming to an end. But most importantly, I realized that this competition is not only about winning, but also about friendship, support and inspiration. I took with me many bright memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. This experience has become an important step for me on the path to new achievements and self-improvement,” shared Nurgazy Kyzy Kanykey.

The Prize is implemented within the framework of the All-Russian student forum "Your Move - 2024", organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the All-Russian public organization "Russian Union of Youth", the Presidential Platform "Russia - the Country of Opportunities" and the Rosmolodezh programme "More than a Journey". The organizers and founders of the Prize are: the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and the All-Russian public organization "Russian Union of Youth".

The winner of the “International Student of the Year” nomination was Makhmadali Dzhurabekov (the Ulyanovsk Region).
