Penza State University helps partnership schools in Russia and China establish cooperation in science and technology
On March 13, 2025, as part of cooperation between Lanzhou School of Foreign Languages, Gansu Province, People's Republic of China and Secondary School No. 78, Penza, the Science and Technology Festival was held.
The festival is organized with the aim of strengthening cultural and educational ties between the countries, as well as popularizing scientific knowledge and technical achievements among young people.
The festival is aimed at developing interest in science and technology among schoolchildren, introducing them to innovative technologies and scientific discoveries, as well as exchanging experience and knowledge between Russian and Chinese students and teachers in the field of natural sciences and engineering.
The moderator of this event was Olga Meshcheryakova, Head of the International Relations Office, the Institute of International Cooperation, PSU. Li Shutian, a PSU master’s degree student, helped to conduct the event and provided interpretation.
School directors Wang Yadong and Sergei Garanin presented the experience of their educational institutions in the engineering area. An important vector of school work in this area is development and maintenance of children's interests. From the Russian side, the honorary guests of the Festival were: Yuri Kalenov, Head of the Penza Education Department, Artem Sadovov, Head of the Oktyabrsky District of the city of Penza.
From the Chinese side, the guests of honor were Xu Yongcheng, Head of the Department of Education of Lanzhou City, PRC, and Su Wei, Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Lanzhou City Government, PRC.
In order to exchange cultural traditions, the school students presented creative performances.
In the main part of the Festival, the children presented their projects in the engineering and technical area.
Students Aleksandr Makarov and Ilya Volkov presented their creative project "Children's Eco-Playground"; Nikita Buyanov and Anastasia Kochergina - the project "Robo-trainers for sports"; Gleb Popov and Danil Nikolaev - the project "Harvest Collector". The children of Lanzhou School presented the following projects: VEX IQ Challenge (Wei Xiaoqian, Zhang Han, Wu Jinxiao); the project "Competition in the Precision Strike of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles" (Zhang Yaowen, Zhang Yizhe); the project "A Guide to Ancient Chinese Science and Technology and a Demonstration of the Work of Ancient Astronomical Instruments" (Dong Yuxuan, Liu Shuyan).
