October – Indian Month at PSU
14th October. The Institute of International Cooperation hosted a colourful event, Indian dance festival, as part of culture marathon ‘See the World within Two Terms’. The dance festival was devoted to Navratri, a traditional sacred Indian holiday of nine nights. Vibrant dances, beautiful singing and mouthwatering food – these were parts of the festivities.
The festival was opened officially by Yuri Mazei, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Olga Meshcheryakova, Director of the Institute of International Cooperation, and YuvrajSolanki, head of the Indian Association of Students at PSU.
Indian students from Penza State University were joined by their compatriots studying in Voronezh University. During the celebrations a local dance group performed traditional Indian dances, which received a round of cheers from the audience.
The festival culminated in a three-hour long fantastic dance, a sight of unparalleled beauty and a test of endurance for the dancers.
