Penza State University joined the European Education Consortium
6th-7th February, 2014. Members of the European Consortium of Teacher Education had a conference meeting in Helsinki, Finland. Representative of 15 European universities met together to discuss issues in education quality, new approaches to teacher education at universities. Penza State University was represented by M.A.Gavrilova, professor at the department ‘Algebra and Methods of Teaching Mathematics and Informatics’ and N.A.Pavlova, head of the department ‘Foreign Languages’. There were representatives of the University of Flensburg (Germany), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), the University of Helsinki (Finland), the University of Exeter (UK), the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK), The Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland), the University of Innsbruck (Austria), Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (Israel). The conference discussions centered on the establishment of European and international network of teacher education and working out the guidelines for further collaborative work.
Conference working groups came up with definite proposals on quality improvement in teacher education, on educational measures and practical support of higher professional education.
The outcome of the international conference was accepting the action plan of future consolidation between universities.
