III Penza-Flensburg Congress Results Discussed at the Round Table

The plenary session with discussion of III Penza-Flensburg Congress took place on Friday, June 5, 2015. The session was opened by the rector of Penza State University, Aleksandr Gulyakov, who expressed his reluctance to part with congress members. 'Over the last five days we managed to reach meaningful results and establish friendly ties. The congress gave us the opportunity to learn from each other within the framework of science conferences, to meet the government officials, to discuss issues within scientific circles. I sincerely hope that you have a good impression of our university's and our city's potential,' the rector said. He also expressed his hope that further cooperation between Penza and Flensburg will strenghthen and encompass dfferent spheres. 'We have a lot of points of common interest. We hope that we will manage to build cooperation in medicine, technology, teacher training and  implement the programmes of academic mobility for students and staff',' he concluded. 

Swetlana Krätschmar, the city president, thanked the university on behalf of all congress members for cordial and open-hearted welcome. 'It is exrtremely important that we could discuss in detail our problems and our achievements. We were pleasantly surprised and even amazed by the education that your student can receive, especialy in the spheres of technology and medicine. The country's most valued treasure is the education of further generations. It is great tha you pay such close attention to the education quality.

Swetlana shared her impressions on her first visit to Penza a nd she noticed that the city should strive to remain the best eco-friendly transport – the trolley-bus service.

Julia Ricart-Brede of Europe-University, Flensburg, also expressed her wish that the fruitful cooperation between Penza and Flensburg universities will go on. She talked on particular steps for further joint work were developed during the congress, among them widening the scope of cooperation in teacher training, development of scientific cooperation and the definite online projects, joint management of bachelor and post-graduate programmes, joint projects 'School Adoption', 'Medical Schools', implementation of double-degree bachelor and master programmes, working out new projects in history, politics, healthcare, nutrition,  ecology.

Prof. Dr. Adberahman Machraoui, who had been awarded the title of honorary professor of Penza State University, offered his view on the development of Penza-Flensburg cooperation in medicine. Prof. Machraoui thanked the Minister of Healthcare of the Penza region, Vladimir Stryuchkov, for the great work that is being done in the region in modernization programmes for healthcare and medicine.

Deputy head of the International Projects Department, Tatiana Razuvaeva, talked on the results of the group ‘Society of frendship between Penza and Flensburg as a conductor between different cultures’ and expressed her hope that the next year’s congress will become more successful.

The congress was finished with signing the Protocol of Proceedings of the Society of Friendship between Flensburg and Penza.
