From 27 July to 1 August, 2015, the city of Santiago (Chile) hosted XVIII International Congress on Mathematical Physics. The Congress takes place once in three years and is the most important event in mathematical physics. The Congress was preceded by Young Researchers Symposium which was held on 24-25 July in The Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Santiago). Russia was represented by two participants, one of them is Dmitry Valovik, professor of the department “Mathematics and Supercomputer Simulation”.

D.Valovik participated in both events and presented the results of some research conducted at the department together with Yu. Smirnov.

After the congress young scientists took part in the work of the research school “Summer School on Current Topics in Mathematical Physics”. The school took place from 3 to 7 August, 2015 in the city of Valparaiso (Chile). The lectures at the research school were delivered by famous scientists (one of the lecturers was B.Simon) at the highest level.
