On the 15^th of December Belinsky Penza Pedagogical Institute, PSU, hosted a traditional annual meeting of A.Gulyakov, Rector of PSU, with international students. The meeting was also attended by S.Vasin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, and O.Navruzov, acting chairman of the Association of International Students of the Penza Region, a student of the Medical Institute.

In his speech Rector mentioned many important issues which are of primary concern for the students: nutrition and home issues, residence halls, redecoration of classrooms and university buildings, the Internet, interaction with the teaching staff.

A.Gulyakov emphasized that much has already been done concerning the redecoration in 2015; and the budget for 2016 includes 40 million roubles for these purposes.

In spite of reducing the university budget, PSU is trying not to cut expenditures on the University development.

The students are very enthusiastic about Rector’s support of organizing “Days of national cuisine” in the University.

In his speech A. Gulyakov also spoke about the actions against extremism and terrorism. He made an appeal to live in peace and friendship. PSU holds different cultural events which contribute to uniting the peoples as well as, for example, the traditional festival “Dialogue of Cultures”.

There 1300 international students from 43 countries studying at our University nowadays. Penza holds the first place in the Volga Region for the number of international students.

 “PSU maintains relationships with its graduates after they go back home”, said A.Gulyakov.

He made an appeal to all the students to study and work hard to achieve success in life. “Your well-being depends on you”, emphasized the Rector.

At the end of the meeting A.Gulyakov answered all the questions of the students who were present at the meeting.
