Penza State University is to Develop Cooperation with Armenian State Pedagogical University
On 13th-16th of October, 2016, Prof. M.Rodionov and Assoc. Prof. P.Pichugina took part in ‘Mathematical Education Conference’ hosted by Armenian State Pedagogical University in Yerevan.
The conference encompassed a range of issues of teaching mathematics in secondary schools and universities. It attracted notable scientists form the Commonwealth of Independent States and neighbouring countries.
The most interesting reports were considered to be those by Prof. A.Voloshinov (Saratov State University) on ‘Mathematics and Aesthetics: from Pythagoras to B. Mandelbrot”, Prof. V. Dubrovsky (Moscow State University) on ‘Dynamic Geometry: the Lesson of Discovery, Mathematical Practice”, Prof. G.Mikhaelyan (Armenian State Pedagogical University) on “ Axiology Basis of Mathematical Education”
Prof. M.Rodionov participated in the conference as a member of the organizing committee, head of the workshop, and the plenary speaker (the report ”Adaptive Teaching of Mathematics in School”) and with a collaborative report with Ass.Prof. P.Pichugina.
The Rector of Armenian Pedagogical University, Prof. R.Mirzakhanyan, and the Deputy Minister of Education in Armenia, M.Mkrtchan, discussed the possible cooperation with Penza State University. Among the draft joint projects are joint master’s degree programmes in mathematical education.
