On February 7, the third electoral conference of the International Students Association of the Penza region took place. More than 30 students from 25 countries studying at Penza State University, Penza State University for Architecture and Construction, Penza State Technological University participated in the conference.

The election of the Chairman of the International Students Association was a key point of the conference.

Orkhan Novruzov who headed the Association during last two years reported on the activities of the Association from 2016 to 2018. In his report he stressed out the importance of this organization because the number of international students at Penza higher educational institutions is increasing rapidly.

Orkhan Novruzov noticed that Penza State University has the biggest number of international students. Social and living conditions are improving, educational programmes on the English language are becoming available, an opportunity to take part in different scientific events is increasing for international students with every year.

Delegates accepted the report about activity of the Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza region in the period from 2016 to 2018 and approved the statement about the International Students Association of the Penza region.

As a registered candidate for a new Chairman of the Association Adel Maqbol, an international student from the Faculty of stomatology of the Medical Institute at the PSU made a speech. In his election speech Adel introduced a programme of developing the International Students Association of the Penza region.

“I think that the main task is developing the International Students Association of the Penza region as a support for universities’ administrations and in the work with international students. It is very important to cooperate with youth organizations of the Penza region”, said Adel Maqbol.

The conference delegates voted for Adel Maqbol to become a Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza region with one voice.

The International Students Association of the Penza region was founded in April 2013.
