Schoolchildren from Flensburg visit PSU
The delegation of schoolchildren from the German city of Flensburg visited Penza State University within international collaboration between the two cities, Penza and Flensburg.
We recall that one of the cities annually hosts the Congress “Penza – Flensburg”, for the fifth time the event was held at PSU on 13 – 15 September 2017. This year the official part of the event takes place in Flensburg. The university delegation consisting of eight persons is currently in Germany.
On 24 September 2018, 18 schoolchildren from Flensburg attended a lecture given by students of the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature (Penza State University). As part of the visit to the university, the young guests not only explored the information and exhibition centre of PSU and walked around the campus, but also communicate with university students and lecturers.
The German schoolchildren visit Russia for the first time. They participate in the exchange programme between Penza Gymnasium No. 44 and the City School of Flensburg.
“The weather here is wonderful. It is much cooler in Flensburg now. On Saturday, we were at the Governor’s House, where we were delighted with the ball. The girls danced in beautiful dresses, I’d love to have something like that (at that I felt that they were unusual and heavy). In addition, we had a guided tour to the village of Kuvaka. The cave there is great. The impressions of it are almost like those of German medieval castles. I will remember this trip for a long time. I had a second family, a second mother. I believe that patronage families take care of us in the way you will not see anywhere. This cordiality and hospitality are the specific features of your nation. Most likely, I will fall in love with Russia and Penza,” stated Annie Andresen, senior class student.
Elena Ryzhova, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, noted the desire of foreign schoolchildren to get acquainted with Russian culture and literature. The PSU lecturer told the young guests about the opportunities for studying at Penza State University within the international student exchange programmes.
The delegation of schoolchildren will stay in Penza till 30 September.
