A PSU international student takes part in the work of UNESCO camp
From 20th July till 1st August St. Petersburg hosted an international camp under the egis of UNESCO “Different heritage: cultural, sacral and natural” for foreigners, including international students who are studying in Russia.
The camp was organized by the autonomous non-profit organization “Centre for research and development of youth tourism under the youth volunteer project “Cultural patrol” under the egis of UNESCO. International students from Vietnam, Bangladesh, Angola, Zambia, Uzbekistan, Egypt and Turkmenistan, who are studying at universities of Stavropol, Nizhny Novgorod, Kostroma, Moscow and Penza, took part in the event.
Penza State University was represented by Ayjemal Reyimova, a student of the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature.
The event consisted of a number of workshops in the Russian language, Russian cuisine, and it also focused on the importance of keeping historical and cultural monuments in order. The following conference was dedicated to the role of UNESCO in preserving cultural heritage sites of St. Petersburg.
“The most interesting part of the programme was excursions to museums and theatres of St. Petersburg and around the town of Peterhof. I am really delighted that my home University sent me to this camp because not only did I enjoy the beautiful centuries-old sites of St. Petersburg, but also learned the reach history of Russia”, commented Ayjemal Reyimova.
