German delegation representatives and the health minister of the region discussed a new stage in the development of Russian-German relations in medicine
For the seventh time Russian and German representatives participate in the significant event of international cooperation between Penza State University and organizations of the city of Flensburg – Penza-Flensburg Congress, which takes place annually in the two partner-cities by turn.
In 2019 Penza hosts the Congress participants. Its four-days’ work started on Tuesday, 10th September, at Penza State University.
On Wednesday, 11th September, the German delegation representatives had a meeting with Aleksandr Nikishin, the Health Minister of the region. In the course of the meeting they discussed the problems of cooperation, implementation of modern educational projects, internships, expansion of joint research and development.
“Our efficient cooperation has lasted for a few years now, - said Aleksandr Nikishin. – The professional dialogue, which has been built between Penza and Flensburg, has to be continued. We appreciate our relationships, as the Penza region is one of not many regions who has been working with foreign partners so closely”.
Many particular projects with high school have been implemented over the years of cooperation, such as joint educational programmes and research and development. Doctors and students from Penza regularly take part in internship programmes in Flensburg medical clinics.
Peter Lorenzen played a major role in developing the cooperation between the cities, he also became the founder of Penza and Flensburg Friendship Society. Let’s note that Peter Lorenzen is a grandson of a Penza governor, Anatoly Lilienfeld von Toal.
“I am asking myself what else I can do to develop our cooperation. I can involve new people in it. This time I have arrived with my brothers Detlef and Hans and my nephew Julius who will definitely make their contribution to the development of cooperation”, said Peter Lorenzen.
In conclusion, the Health Minister of the Penza Region thanked the guests for their visit and expressed the hope that the cooperation will continue in the direction of development. “Thank you very much for having found the time to visit us”, said Aleksandr Nikishin. “I assure you that we will always be welcoming hosts and reliable partners for you”.
On the results of the visit and meetings a memorandum on further cooperation in healthcare will be prepared. During the return visit these arrangements will be formalized.
