Sergei Vasin, PSU Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, and Sergei Kireev, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, Power Engineering and Transport,  became participants in the strategic session “Russia-Belarus. Education. Science. Technology transfer”. The event was held from 5 to 6 July in Belarus.

A delegation of ANO "Institute for Regional Development" - the managing company of the World-class science and education centre "Engineering of the Future" - also arrived in the Republic.

On the first day of the forum, July 5, the issues of the current state of implementing the roadmap projects by levels of technological and market readiness were discussed, proposals for their development were devised. First Deputy Chairman of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Chizhik and General Director of the managing company of the World-class science and education centre "Engineering of the Future" - ANO "Institute for Regional Development", Advisor to the Governor of the Samara Region Olga Mikheeva made a welcoming speech. A presentation of new projects for inclusion in the roadmap took place.

Let’s recall that the "Roadmap" for research and development cooperation for 2022-2025 between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the managing company of the World-class science and education centre "Engineering of the Future" - ANO "Institute for Regional Development" was signed on June 27, 2022.

On the second day of the forum, July 6, the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov made a welcoming speech to the participants. He noted that Russia is a priority partner for the Belarusian side and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is open to cooperation in any areas, including digitalization, IT, engineering, pharmaceuticals, medicine and healthcare, in the field of the humanities.

On the same day, a working meeting was held between representatives of Polessky State University (Vice-Rector for Research Vladimir Shtepa) and Penza State University (Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Sergei Vasin and Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, Power Engineering and Transport Sergei Kireev).

It is symbolic that substantive communication took place on the sidelines of the “Strategic Session” organized by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the World-class science and education centre “Engineering of the Future” (partners and participants of the initiative are located in more than 15 regions of the Russian Federation).

One of the main aspects of the event is devoted to the development of cooperation infrastructure - the creation of a Russian-Belarusian centre for technology transfer. Within the framework of the working meeting between scientists from PolesSU and PSU, the key emphasis was placed on innovative interaction, using the opportunities of the joint international scientific laboratory “Technologies and Digital Economy” opened this year. The results of implementing the cooperation agreement signed in 2022 at the forum of the regions of Belarus and Russia were analyzed: holding conferences (“Pinsk readings”, “Shlyandin readings”, “Banking system: sustainability and development prospects”, “Engineering: theory and practice”) and a seminar on the use of artificial intelligence; carrying out in cooperation a number of fundamental and applied research; publication of articles and a collective monograph; providing internships and mutual visits, including with the participation of university students.

Promising areas of innovative interaction are defined as: applying for project financing, primarily at the expense of the Union State; commercializing research results with a focus on specialized laboratories; maximum involvement of students in innovative activities.

During the session, Sergei Vasin also visited the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Research and Production Center for Multifunctional Unmanned Systems" of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Sergei Kireev visited the Institute of Powder Metallurgy, the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

An agreement was reached with the leadership of these organizations to establish cooperation in the research field.
