Every year on October 15, on the initiative of Penza Regional Library for Children and Youth, the "Lermontov Poetry Day in the Library" is held. This International Poetry Event, already the 11th in a row, is traditionally joined by colleagues and readers from different regions of the
Russian Federation and neighboring countries.

Events are held for children and teenagers with the view to introducing them to the literary and artistic heritage of M.Yu. Lermontov.

On this day, in the Tolstoy library, international students of Penza State University and students of Penza State Agrarian University (Faculty of Agronomics and Faculty of Technology) met during the intellectual game "M.Yu. Lermontov: famous and unknown".

This way the participants were able to test their own knowledge of the classic’s works and discover new pages of his biography. Although future agronomists won this intellectual competition, international students had no equal in the artistic recitation of the poems of the outstanding poet.
