Representatives of PSU took part in the XVIII conference of compatriots of Morocco
On March 2, in Agadir (Kingdom of Morocco), the XVIII conference of compatriots living in Morocco was held in a mixed format on the topic “Development of the youth direction of the compatriot movement in Morocco. Introduction of mentoring experience, active youth as inspirational leaders for compatriot teenagers”. The conference was organized by the Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in the Kingdom of Morocco.
“North African countries are a promising area for Penza State University, especially Morocco. We have already held a series of online meetings with educational organizations in Morocco in various scientific areas, and we will continue this work in the future,” said Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at PSU.
From Penza State University, the conference was attended by Sergei Ivanchin, Head of the international Education Office, Institute of International Cooperation, and Adel Maqbol, Chairman of the International Students Association of the Penza Region.
The conference was opened by Oleg Prokhorov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Casablanca, who noted the importance of holding this conference and also expressed his full support for compatriots living in Morocco. Abdelatif Abid, Honorary Consul General of the Russian Federation in Agadir, delivered a welcoming speech and wished success in the work of the conference participants. Duke Michel Nghebana, Honorary Consul General of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Congo and Deputy Chairman of the World Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots, also joined the conference. He thanked the organizers for holding the conference, and wished the young participants success in creating new projects to help develop the movement of Russian compatriots in African countries.
“We thank Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Morocco and Natalia Bokha personally for the invitation to take part in the conference of Russian compatriots of Morocco for the first time. Last year, Penza State University accepted more than 150 Moroccan applicants, including Russian compatriots, for study. In turn, we invite you to take part in an online meeting for Moroccan applicants, at which Penza State University and admission rules will be presented. This meeting is planned for mid-March,” Sergei Ivanchin addressed the conference participants.
The conference participants shared their project reports, such as: “Chess club for children and teenagers, as one of the options for developing the youth movement of compatriots”; “Involving children of compatriots in the volunteer movement of environmental and patriotic projects”; “Russian-speaking youth are ambassadors of Russian culture among their peers in the country of residence”; “Historical discussion club. Experience of pedagogical mentoring"; “An educational course aimed at developing among compatriots an idea of modern approaches to the implementation of cultural and humanitarian events involving a youth audience.”
Our compatriot Yassin Ennamr (Fez, Morocco) is taking part in the World Youth Festival in Sochi and joined the conference online. He told how happy he was that he had been selected for the festival, how many new friends from all over the world he had found in Russia in Sochi, wished his peers to actively take part in all events, and not be afraid that something would not work out.
At the end of the conference, the participants adopted a final resolution, and the best members of the organization were awarded letters of gratitude.
