International Conference on Sustainable Management ICSMP-2024: contribution of PSU representatives

Leyla Gamidullaeva, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department “Management and Public Administration” at the Institute of Economics and Administration, PSU,  and Tatiana Razuvaeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the International Projects Department at the Institute of International Cooperation, Associate Professor of the Department “Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages” at the Institute of Teacher Education, PSU, took part in the international conference “Sustainable Management Practices”. The event was held in a mixed format on April 5-6 in Kanpur, India.

The scientific conference was organized by the School of Business Management of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, a partner university of Penza State University. The purpose of the conference was to provide a platform for discussing the most effective sustainable management practices for their subsequent implementation.

Sudhir Awasthi, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, addressed the participants and guests of the event with a welcoming speech: “Currently, technological and socio-economic difficulties represent an irreversible driving force of transformations in various areas of society. Our task is to combine the practices of sustainable development and balanced management for the sake of the prosperity of current and future generations.”

On behalf of PSU, the conference participants were greeted by Leyla Gamidullaeva, Head of the Department of Management and Public Administration. She thanked her colleagues for the invitation to make a report and noted that Penza State University highly values friendship and cooperation with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.

The conference focused on the exchange of practical experience accumulated by representatives of the academic community, business and government. More than 70 people from several states of India and Russia took part in the event.

In her report “Interregional integration based on the approach of “smart” specialization for sustainable development,” Leyla Gamidullayeva presented a methodology for identifying “smart” specialization of regions, which allows us to determine the feasibility of combining the scientific and technological potential of the regions, in order to strengthen the interterritorial connectivity of the country’s internal economic space, support interregional cooperation. Special attention was paid to promising tools for supporting “sustainable” interregional environmental and technological projects.

Tatiana Razuvaeva presented a report on the theme “Internationalization of higher education as a key factor in sustainable development,” where she examined higher education as a tool for achieving sustainable development goals and presented several successful international projects implemented in this area.

“India is one of the strategic partners for Penza State University. We have already held a series of online meetings with new partners - universities from India - in various scientific areas, and will continue this work in the future. We intend to actively develop academic, scientific and cultural ties for the common good of Russia and India,” said Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, PSU.

The participation of representatives of our university in the ICSMP-2024 conference was made possible thanks to the close interaction of the Department of International Relations of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, represented by Prabhat Dwivedi, Head of the Department, and the International Projects Department of the Institute of International Cooperation,PSU, represented by Tatiana Razuvaeva, Head of the Department.
