Teachers from the Institute of Teacher Education of Penza State University made a report at the republican scientific and methodological seminar “Current issues of teaching the Russian language and literature at universities and schools.” The seminar took place online on Wednesday, April 3. More than two hundred teachers of Russian language and literature of the Republic of Kazakhstan and teachers of Russian universities became its participants.

The event was organized by the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Almaty).

PSU was represented by teachers of the Department of Literature and Methods of Teaching Literature: Professor Galina Prantsova and Associate Professor Anna Timakova.

The seminar was opened by the Head of the department of Russian language and literature of the Institute of Philology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Saule Abisheva. She noted the importance of international exchange of experience.

The seminar also included methodologists from the Institute of Philology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, Mordovian State Pedagogical University named after M. E. Evsevyev, gymnasiums and schools in Almaty and the republic.

The report by Galina Prantsova and Anna Timakova is devoted to characterizing the similarities and differences of research and project activities at school. Their performance aroused the interest of the audience. Teachers asked questions related to both specific topics for school projects design and general principles of working on projects and research.

This speech by PSU teachers continued a number of events to exchange experience with fellow methodologists of Kazakhstan and methodological support for teachers of the republic. Thus, in October 2022, Professor Galina Prantsova and Associate Professor Anna Timakova took part in an international round table meeting on the issues of popularizing reading among young people (organized by Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University). And in October 2023, teachers acted as speakers at a meeting of the International Club of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature, organized by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
