Penza State University strengthens research ties with scientists from Morocco and India
On May 21-22, as part of the events dedicated to the celebration of the 35th anniversary of international activity at the university, the research teams of Penza State University held the working meetings with the representatives of Parul University (Republic of India) and Universiapolis – International University of Agadir (Kingdom of Morocco).
Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Research, Dean of the Polytechnic School of Universiapolis – International University of Agadir Ilias Majdouline and Dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Health Technologies of Universiapolis – International University of Agadir Salim Bouslikhane visited the Student Research and Production Business Incubator, which is a part of the Institute for Fundamental and Applied Research. The guests explored the activity of the incubator with regard to providing assistance to PSU students in launching and running projects and entrepreneurial initiatives. Moreover, the guests got acquainted with the research projects implemented by students under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Radioengineering and Radioelectronic Systems and Deputy Director of the Institute for Fundamental and Applied Research Aleksandr Tychkov and the Associate Professor of the Department of Radioengineering and Radioelectronic Systems and Director of the Student Research and Production Business Incubator Alan Alimuradov.
At the Polytechnic Museum of PSU, the research teams led by the Head of the Department of Information and Measuring Equipment and Metrology Ekaterina Pecherskaya, acting Head of the Department of Welding and Foundry Engineering, Materials Science Andrei Rosen, Head of the Department of Machine Building Technologies and Equipment Aleksandr Zverovshchikov, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and Graphic Design Aleksandr Muizemnek presented the outputs and outcomes of their research and discussed the prospective domains for research cooperation with Moroccan colleagues. During the meeting, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Sergei Vasin, Director of the Polytechnic Institute Gennady Kozlov, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, Power Engineering and Transport Sergei Kireev, Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Research Ilias Majdouline and Dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Health Technologies Salim Bouslikhane agreed to prepare joint scientific articles, as well as to conduct joint research.
During his stay, the Director for Research of Parul University Anand Yagneshbhai Joshi also got acquainted with the research projects implemented at the Student Research and Production Business Incubator of PSU. He met with the research teams led by the Director of the Medical Institute Aleksandr Mitroshin, Head of the Department of Information and Computation Systems Andrei Kuzmin, Head of the Department of Nanoelectronics and Microelectronics Igor Pronin, Head of the Department of Radio Equipment Engineering and Production Nikolai Yurkov and Consulting Professor of the Department of Transport Vehicles Nikolai Kurnosov. During the meeting, the scientists discussed and highlighted the most promising domains for joint research. An agreement was reached to prepare a joint research proposal to the Russian Science Foundation and DST (Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of India) developed by the Associate Professor of the Department of Transport Vehicles Konstantin Lebedinsky. The scientists also agreed to conduct joint laboratory experiments to develop new materials for medical purposes, examine the electrical activity of the heart and design gas sensors. As a result of the meeting, the joint research teams were created to cover the defined domains.
The visits of the representatives of Moroccan and Indian universities continued the agreements reached during the visit of Vice-Rector for International Affairs Gleb Sintsov to India, which was organized in spring 2023 with the assistance of the CEO of Chevalier Group Yuvrajsinh Solanki, and during the visit of the PSU delegation to Morocco in October 2023. Over six months, a series of online meetings were arranged with the support of the International Projects Department of the International Relations Office and the International Education Office. These online meetings enabled the preliminary discussions of areas for joint work in the field of education and science, which are mutually interesting and beneficial for the universities.
Summarizing the negotiations, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Gleb Sintsov noted: "Internationalization of the university is one of the strategic development objectives of PSU. It is crucially important not only to promote the export of educational services, but also to expand the geography of research collaborations, thus strengthening the university's standing in the international academic and scientific community".
