The main goal of the visit of the official delegation of Penza State University to Morocco was to organize entrance examinations for Moroccan applicants in the cities of Marrakech, Agadir and Rabat.
The delegation included: Kirill Plotnikov Head of the Department of Foreign Student Accommodation of the Institute of International Cooperation, Igor Kamardin, Director of the Center for Organizing Admissions and Pre-University Training, and Adel Maqbol, Chairperson of the International Students Association of the Penza Region.
Before the exams, PSU presented information to applicants and their parents about the admission procedure, the specifics and requirements of Russian legislation during the first months of foreign students' stay in Russia, about studying at PSU and life in Penza.
"For the second year, we have noted an increased interest in studying at Penza State University from applicants from Morocco. This year, the number of Moroccan students should exceed 300 people, and this does not include those wishing to study Russian at the Pre-University Training Department. At the same time, students from Morocco are entering not only medical training programmes. The students are also willing to choose psychology, computer science and computer engineering," said Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at PSU.
During the visit, the university officials visited Ibn Zor University in Ait Melloul, where they got acquainted with the faculty of law, economics and social sciences. The PSU team held a working meeting with Dean Rahim Atuar and his deputy Noureddine Assoussi, presented Penza State University and the fields of study that are implemented there.
Moroccan colleagues expressed their intention to strengthen cooperation with PSU in the field of economic research and to increase academic exchange flows of teachers and students studying economics and world economy.
At the Honorary Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Agadir, the PSU delegation was once again hospitably received by Natalia Bohu, Chairperson of the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Morocco (CCORC), Assistant to the Consul General. Let us recall that in April 2024, the university representatives already took part in the XVIII Conference of Compatriots of Morocco and in an online meeting with Russian compatriots, organized by the CCORC together with the International Students Association of the Penza Region. This time, Natalia Bohu organized face-to-face and online consultations for the guests with representatives of organizations of compatriots from Morocco and Cameroon, who intend to send their young citizens to study in Russia, including at PSU.
The delegation from Penza offered various options for training children of compatriots in terms of improving their level of Russian language proficiency and specialized subjects for admission to a university.
"We see the interest of compatriots from African countries in entering Penza State University. Young people want to go study in Russia. We are ready to provide them with the opportunity to enter the leading university in Penza" commented Kirill Plotnikov.
