On October 23, an international webinar on current issues and prospects for implementing IT technologies was held for students of the Medical Institute and the Polytechnic Institute with the participation of Serbian experts.

The event participants were greeted by Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, who noted in his speech the importance of holding such events, since the development of scientific collaborations among student scientific communities is impossible without cooperation with foreign partners. Formation of students' research competences, education and support of a new generation of scientists is one of the key tasks of the national project "Science and Universities", which is being implemented in accordance with the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation of May 7, 2018 No. 204 "On national goals and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024" and of July 21, 2020 No. 474 "On national goals for the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030".

Jovica Petrović, President of the Executive Board of Metacognis Institute, appealed to PSU students to actively engage in practice-oriented projects in the field of healthcare, especially given the need to find new solutions in the field of medical logistics, information transfer, and data protection.

Nikola Petrović, manager of projects in the field of medicine, biomedicine, and biomedical engineering at Metacognis Institute, presented the main trends in implementing IT technologies in the Serbian healthcare system, as well as some interdisciplinary scientific projects in the field of medicine, which are being carried out by the staff of Metacognis Institute and the University of Novi Sad.

Andrei Kuzmin, Head of the Department of Information and Computation Systems, told the participants about the history of telemedicine development in the Russian healthcare system, described the main trends, and gave students practical recommendations on where to start an interdisciplinary project to find IT solutions in the medical field.

Students were able to ask experts questions and discuss the prospects and limitations of using artificial intelligence in medicine.

The event was held within the framework of a subsidy from the federal budget to higher education institutions for the implementation of events aimed at supporting student scientific communities. In accordance with the plan of events of the project: "Student Scientific Communities - marathon: youth and science - together we create the future!" (agreement on the provision of grants from the federal budget in the form of subsidies No. 075-15-2024-597 dated May 30, 2024 for the implementation of events aimed at supporting student scientific communities).
