Lecture of an American political economist

October 4th. Mr. Jeffrey Sommers, American political economist , Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, visited PSU and gave an open lecture on US economic crisis and its causes. The lecture gathered economics students and teachers, various questions, including US hegemony crisis, were discussed.

The lecturer also had a meeting with sociology students. J. Sommers and Boris Kagarlytsky (well-known Russian political scientist) answered students’ questions on EU perspectives, world currencies, health insurance plans, employment for graduates in the USA and Russia, general and student education loans.

Mr. J.Sommers remarked on students’ knowledgeable discussions, deep interest in serious issues and good manners.
