Today Penza State University is hosting a significant event not only for the University, but also for the whole region – the 4th International Student Forum “Dialogue of Cultures”.

Traditionally the Forum guests include delegations from other countries. In 2014 “Dialogue of Cultures” was visited by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from Benin, Chad, Burundi, Guinea-Bissau, and by Head of the Penza branch of the Association of International Students.

This year the University guests are Vice-Rector of Lebanese University Hamieh Teissier and the representative of international students from Lebanon in Russian universities Samaha Bashir.

The official visit of the delegation started with attending Penza State University and meeting with Rector Aleksandr Gulyakov.

The representatives of the two countries discussed the questions of cooperation in the spheres of science and education. The Lebanese University representative noted historically close cooperation of the USSR, and later, of the Russian Federation with Lebanon, and on behalf of Lebanese University Rector congratulated all Russians on the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Penza is the third city after Orel and Belgorod visited by the Lebanese representatives in order to study the Russian system of higher education so that they could send their students and develop international inter-university relations in scientific sphere.

Such intentions were stated in the Lebanese governmental decision about diversification of Lebanese students from European universities to Russian ones.
