On October 21, 2018, a meeting with schoolchildren from Penza and the Penza region, learning French, took place at the French Resource Centre at the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature (Department of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages). Meetings with students and their parents has become an annual tradition of the French Resource Centre. On that day, 28 schoolchildren and their parents visited the Resource Centre to receive international certificates of various levels in French (DELF Junior). Ekaterina Aleshina, the head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, congratulated them on successfully completing a major stage in French studies. In her speech Ekaterina Yurievna pointed out that the rapid development of international relations, the growing opportunities for education and work make it increasingly necessary to obtain international certificates in foreign languages. Students can improve their foreign language skills by enrolling in the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature, which offers various educational programs, as well.

The highlight of the meeting was delivery ceremony of the DELF international certificates. Elena Shibanova, the head of the Resource Centre, responsible examiner of DELF / DALF, associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages and Lubov Shvareva, the examiner of DELF / DALF, associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages presented certificates and souvenirs from heads of the Kampyus of France in Russia (French public information center for higher education in France). The event shows that the French language in the Penza region is interesting, in demand and available for learning. The doors of the Resource Centre are open to anyone who is learning or learning French.
