Delegation of Beihang University visits PSU
On 23 July 2019, Penza State University welcomed the delegation of Beihang University (China). Accompanied by university senior staff, 27 students came to Russia to participate in the Summer Network School, which is organised by Moscow State University (MSU), Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) and Penza State University (PSU). The network school is aimed at acquainting Chinese students with the Russian system of higher education, the Russian language and culture. Each university arranges a set of activities and classes.
As part of the grand opening of the summer school at PSU, Sergei Vasin, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, told Chinese guests about the university, as well as about the ongoing joint programmes and projects with partners from the PRC. He also stressed the importance of developing cooperation with Chinese universities.
As the summer school coordinator Olga Mescheryakova, Head of the International Relations Office, presented the programmes of the summer school MSU, MAI and PSU. During their stay in Penza, Chinese students will attend the Russian language classes supervised by the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language. They will also have psychological trainings on effective communication in cross-cultural context, which will be arranged by the Department of General Psychology. They will be able to interact with Russian students. In addition, Chinese nationals will go sightseeing, visit the Rameev Technology Park, and take part in cultural events.
Tatiana Razuvaeva, Head of the Language and Examination Centre, Vera Shmelkova, Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, and Vsevolod Konstantinov, Head of the Department of General Psychology, were present at the meeting. They briefed the participants of the summer school about the prospective activities and acquainted them with teachers and trainers.
In response, Liu Keshen, Deputy Director of Beihang University College, thanked the university management for implementing the programme at PSU and expressed willingness to conduct detailed negotiations on promoting cooperation in education and science.
