Students of Penza State University from China become all-Russian singing contest prize winners
Dong Zichao and Pan Xin are studying "Music" at the Pedagogical Institute. As students of the second and third year of study, they have won various creative contests.
After the results of the 4th all-Russian (with international participation) Kabalevsky vocal choreographic contest Dong Zichao and Pan Xin were awarded the I and II degrees in the nomination "Solo (academic) singing". (Class of the teacher Valentina Mikhaleva, concert master - Alexander Gubarkov).
Full-time contest to be held at Taganrog Institute in early April was canceled in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. The jury evaluated the participants on the basis of video recordings. The jury consisted of leading teachers from the Choral Conducting Department of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Methods of Pre-school, Elementary and Additional Education at the Taganrog Institute, as well as university teachers who took part in the contest.
The competition was held in two stages. At the first stage, two pieces were performed with the concert master. One of the works was a song written by D. B. Kabalevsky. The second stage was a work dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.
