PSU Associate Professor participates in training session in Liverpool
On 3 – 7 September 2018, Tatyana Razuvaeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages, completed internship at Liverpool John Moores University. This training session was arranged within the international project ENTEP: Enhancing Teaching Practice in Higher Education in Russia and China.
Within five days,Tatyana Razuvaeva attended workshops on topical issues of improving teaching in higher education. The representatives of Liverpool University featured field-proven algorithms for designing curricula and developing a system for evaluating student learning outcomes. The host university also introduced the guests to the science-oriented teaching approach, on which the logic of learning and the content of Master’s degree programmes are based.
In addition, British experts demonstrated specific methods and techniques used in lectures and seminars for increasing students’ motivation for the educational process, as well as some information technologies that are actively applied at Liverpool University. As part ofmaster classes, the system of guiding student throughout their entire period of study at the university was also presented.
At master classes, the participants actively discussed the demonstrated methods and technologies, jointly identifiedthe advantages and disadvantages of different pedagogical techniques. Moreover, theyvoiced opinions and shared experience of using various methods in their own teaching experience in Russian and Chinese partner-institutions.
All participants of the session noted the high level of organisation and management of training workshops, the informationalvalue of the presented materials, which can be applied in teaching practice in Russian and Chinese universities.
