The final of the competition "The best foreign student of the Penza State University - 2020" took place on May 21st. As a part of the student initiative laboratory, participants developed and defended their projects. The peculiarity of the competition in 2020 is the distance form of the event, therefore the defense of the projects took place on the ZOOM platform.

Askarbekova Ayperi (the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Kyrgyzstan), Bhatt Utkarsh (the Faculty of General Medicine, India), Ganbaatar Murun (the Faculty of Dentology, Mongolia), Zikrov Aliazgar (the Faculty of Computer Technology, Tajikistan), Nurullayeva Rozygul (Faculty of General Medicine, Turkmenistan), Ogundiran Oluvatobi Azhibola (Faculty of Dentology, Nigeria), Soni Ishika (Faculty of General Medicine, India), Alsadeyakh Omar Makhmud (Faculty of Dentology, Jordan) and Tsyan Van (the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Social Sciences, China) represented their projects. There were “Mr. World”, intellectual games, charity events among the projects.

The expert commission consisted of L.A. Kudinova, the deputy head of the Office for Education and Social Work; T.E. Kandrashina, Chair of the PSU Student Council; S.A. Ivanchin, Head of the International Education Office; A.V. Pervushkin, the head of the Department of Academic Affairs; E.G. Syagailo, Head of the Department of Student Affairs; A.Makbol, Chairman of the Association of International Students in the Penza Region.

These competitions take place for the sixth time. In various years, representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Moldova and Estonia were the winners of the “Foreign Student of the Year” nomination. In the coming days, the jury will have to evaluate projects and summarize the results of the competition. Afterwards the name of the winner of the competition "The best foreign student of the PSU - 2020" will be announced.
