Semester at the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature. Impressions of a German Student
In terms of cooperation with the University of Flensburg, a partner of Penza State University, the Faculty of History, Languages and Literature hosted a student from Germany, Timo Buchholz, for the autumn semester, from the 1st of September, 2013 till the 30th of January, 2014. Timo studied the German language together with the students and teachers of the department “German and Methods of Teaching German”. Timo confessed that he had discovered a lot of new in his native language thanks to such subjects as “History of the German Language”, German Language Stylistics”. He did his homework very carefully and took exams like other students. Besides, Timo took an active part in social life of the University: he visited Moscow, Kazan, Volgograd together with the students of other faculties, played in a football team during the Football Cup of foreign students, attended classes of the “FAN” studio, visited the Drama Theatre, made a lot of friends, and experienced real Russian frosts. Timo had unforgettable time in Penza. It wasn’t easy for him to say good-bye to the city, the university and his new friends. However, in March Timo will be able to meet three students of our Faculty who are getting ready to take a course of studies in Germany during the spring semester.
We hope that our Faculty will soon host more students from the German partner university.
