21-24 April, 2014 Ekaterinburg hosted the fifth Eurasian youth economic forum. International students studying in Russian universities of Penza, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Belgorod, Astrakhan, Novomoskovsk, Kazan, Tula, Ivanovo, Tomsk, and Orenburg took part in the forum. The event was also visited by students from Moldova and Kirghizia.
Penza was represented by Mahammat Kishine, the chairman of the Association of International Students of the Penza Region, Sergey Ivanchin, Head of the Department of Student Affairs, Olga Antonova, press officer of the Association of International Students of the Penza Region, Orkhan Novruzov, Head of the Department of Science of the Association of International and Lyan Libin, executive member of the Association of International Students of the Penza Region.
The forum programme was interesting and full of events. International students attended the School of Public Diplomacy, where they visited lectures of Anatoly Wasserman, publicist, and of Semen Uralov, editor-in-chief of the project “Odnako. Eurasia”. Thus they enriched their knowledge in economics, foreign affairs and public diplomacy.
The main aim of visiting Ekaterinburg was the annual Ural convention of the Association of International Students of Russia, where students share their problems and offer ways of solving them. Among the participants of the convention there were honourable guests, namely, ambassadors extraordinary and ambassadors plenipotentiary from Benin, Gabon, Uruguay, Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala. Every year more and more students take part in such events which enables them to get integrated into Russian society, to make new friends from different countries, to exchange contacts, and, of course, to maintain communication and friendship.
Eurasian youth economic forum will be remembered for its warmth, friendliness and positive emotions. We congratulate the forum on its anniversary and wish it further success and development.
Penza State University in cooperation with the Association of International Students organizes Volga Educational Camp for International Students “POLIS” in May this year. More than 60 students from ten Russian cities have already applied for participation.
