Students meet a master student from Lanzhou University (China)
Penza State University has implemented academic exchange programme with People’s Republic of China for a few years. The Penza Region and Gansu Province are twinned. Universities of Lanzhou accept our students for training courses with great pleasure.
“Within the framework of implementing events of the cooperation joint programme “Volga – Yangtze”, which has been successfully operating in the Penza Region for a few years, Penza State University graduates and students take training courses in Chinese universities. The city of Lanzhou gives our students an opportunity to study at Lanzhou Transport University and Lanzhou Technical University in «Chinese University Program», which is suitable for bachelor, master students and specialists for taking a next step in education”, says O.V. Meshcheryakova, Head of International Cooperation Office, PSU.
14 students are studying in Chinese universities this year. Like at PSU, our master, specialist and post-graduate students in China have holidays between semesters when they come back home. One of them visited the students of “linguistics” during the holidays.
Roman Donskoy, PSU graduate, is currently a master student at University of Lanzhou (China). Last year Roman successfully completed the additional programme “Translation in the sphere of professional communication”. It helped him to pass an English exam and enter a Master degree course in Business Administration in Lanzhou, a major in “IT”. He told the students about his studies, specific features of students’ life, academic exchange programme, his further plans.
“It is always pleasant to come back to my home university, I didn’t expect that the students would be so interested in my experience and would want to exercise Chinese calligraphy”, said Roman.
The students were active to ask questions. Roman Donskoy also gave a workshop in writing Chinese hieroglyphs.
