PSU enters top 30 Russian HEIs according to Webometrics Transparent Ranking: Top Universities by Google Scholar Citiations

Spanish laboratory Webometrics is one of the most authoritative research establishments in the field of web-rankings.
The global research conducted by the laboratory – Ranking Web of Universities has covered more than 20,000 universities all over the world. Data concerning one of the segments is recorded in Transparent Ranking: Top Universities by Google Scholar Citations where the world universities are assessed in Google Scholar system following the analysis of citations of the authors from the university staff.
Out of 1000 Russian HEIs considered by Webometrics laboratory, only 83 universities managed to enter the ranking. As of January 2017 their number reached only 57. At that Penza State University occupies 27th place, rose by 5 points as compared to January 2017.
PSU is ahead of several leading Russian universities, including Perm National Research Polytechnic University (2650th place), Samara State Medical University (2666th place), Moscow State Institute of International Relations (2755th place), Altai State University (2759th place), North-Eastern Federal University (2800th place), Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (2933rd place), National University of Science and Technology (2943rd place), Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (2953rd place) and other universities.
The high result achieved by the HEI (the number of citations doubled and reached 7097 within 6 months) demonstrates sustainable development of Penza State University and its recognition by international academic community.
