ICCSEIT 2017: Professor Rodionov awarded for the best report
In October, 2017 the International Conference on Computer Supported Education and Information Technology (ICCSEIT 2017) held in New York (the United States) was attended by Mikhail Al. Rodionov, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Methods of Teaching Computer Science and Mathematics.
The ICCSEIT 2017 provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations and trends, as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Computer Supported Education and Information Technology.
In follow-up to the conference the organising committee analysed the reports submitted and the best reports were awarded with the Certificate of the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology. Out of 100 reports of scientists from all over the world the report presented by PSU professor was recognised as one of the best in the section of Educational and Pedagogical Sciences.
At the conference Professor Rodionov spoke on Practical Problems as Tools for the Development of Secondary School Students’ Motivation to Learn Mathematics. His speech was accompanied by a detailed presentation.
The report contained a general algorithm for solving practical problems that included an analysis of specific problem content to build, solve and interpret the underlying mathematical model. The authors also explored the role of practical problems such as the stimulation of students' interest, the development of their world outlook and their orientation in the modern world at the different stages of learning mathematics in secondary school.
