Current problems of medical science and education were discussed at PSU
The conference “Current problems of medical science and education” is one of the most significant scientific forums of the Penza region in the sphere of medicine. Its organizer is the Medical Institute, PSU. This year the conference took place from 11th to 14th September and was dedicated to 80th anniversary of the Penza region and to 20th anniversary of the Medical Institute.
The ceremonial opening of the conference was held in the assembly hall of Building 10, on Thursday, 12th September.
High status organizing committee, which included the health minister of the region, prominent scientists, professors from Russia, Israel, Belarus, Ukraine, medical practitioners, demonstrates the high level of the conference and the relevance of the issues under discussion. The chairman of the committee was Aleksandr Guliakov, Rector of PSU.
Six reports were presented at the plenary meeting. The plenary meeting started with the report by Professor Abderrahman Machraoui, a cardiologist from Flensburg. The report dealt with new biomarkers in cases of acute coronary syndrome and those for anticipating diabetes. Professor Valentin Oleinikov, doctor of medical sciences, head of department “Therapy” presented a complex approach to the problem of myocardial infarction, whereas Professor Sergei Gerashchenko, doctor of medical sciences, head of department “Medical cybernetics and informatics” spoke about hydraulic technology for forming oscillations to assess hemodynamic parameters. The report by Konstantin Sergatsky, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor at the department “Surgery” was dedicated to modern methods for diagnosing and treating patients with acute pyoinflammatory diseases of paraproctium. Nikita Dyatlov, assistant teacher at the department “Internal medicine”, reported on non-invasive methods of evaluating electro-physiological characteristics of heart activity. Yaroslav Feoktistov, assistant teacher at the department “Surgery” reported on the problem of biological and synthetic materials in prosthetic hernioplasty.
The conference work was divided into four sections: “Theoretical and experimental medicine”, “Current problems of practical medicine”, “Biotechnical and medical systems and complexes”, “Improving the organization of medical aid and rehabilitation of patients in “Maxillofacial surgery” in the Penza region”.
The perinatal centre organized the workshop “Up-to-date technologies of treating herniae” with online broadcasting of surgical operations. The colleagues also shared experience in training surgical staff and told about specific features of hernioplasty in German clinics.
The day before the Medical Institute had hosted a number of open lectures by Flensburg doctors.
