PSU will cooperate with Xi’an International University, leading private university of China
The round table dedicated to issues of developing cooperation between the university of Penza and Xi’an took place in Penza State University, on Wednesday, 16th October.
Xi’an International University was represented by Dai Zizhi, Executive President of the University, Hu Jianghua, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Centre, and He Xingxing, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Centre for work with Russia.
PSU representatives at the round table were Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Olga Meshcheryakova, Head of the International Relations Office, representatives of other offices and departments of the university.
The range of topics under discussion concerned both scientific issues and educational ones. In particular, the participants of the round table discussed the creation of joint educational programme in English, cooperation in teaching Russian as a foreign language, as well as aesthetic disciplines. The Chinese guests were interested in the possibility for Xi’an International University students to participate in the International Musical Contest “Silver Lyre” which annually takes place at PSU.
The agreement to cooperate in studying logistics and chainlets was achieved. The representatives of the Institute of Economics and Administration of PSU and the partners from China demonstrated mutual interest both in training specialists in this area under academic mobility programmes and in joint research.
The parties discussed the question of training academic staff from China at PSU. By the way, He Xingxing is a post-graduate student at Penza State University.
At PSU, the joint Russian-Chinese master’s degree programme “World economy” is being successfully implemented, and now students from Xi’an University will be able to be enrolled.
PSU representatives told the guests about international students’ adaptation at the University, about the conditions for their studying, living and self-fulfillment.
The colleagues from China supported the idea of organizing the Chinese languages courses at Penza State University, and also put forward the initiative to provide methodological assistance, including the online-communicative with Chinese speakers.
PSU intends to establish a Russian-Chinese Cultural Centre. The University guests promised to assist with its equipment, to provide literature in Chinese and national attributes.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the department of investment promotion “Penza Region Development Corporation”. Yuliya Kireicheva, a PSU graduate student, Deputy Director, made a presentation on economic potential of the Penza Region.
The efficient dialogue has given start to implementing joint projects of the two universities.
Xi’an International University was founded in 1992. It is the leading and the largest private university of China. The University is located in Gaoxin District of Xi’an city. The University provides 42 bachelor’s degree programmes, 27 higher professional education programmes in the following areas: economics, management, literature, medicine, engineering, art, agriculture and education. The University comprises 8 colleges, including College of Business, College of Humanities, College of Arts, College of Medicine, College of Engineering, College of International cooperation, College of Entrepreneurship, College of Qi Fang and College of Ongoing Education. It employs 1,700 teachers; more than 21,000 students study here.
