PSU and AIS of the Penza region express condolences to students and graduates from Lebanon
Penza State University and the Association of International Students of the Penza Region express their condolences to the students and graduates of PSU from Lebanon in connection with the tragedy that occurred on 4th August in the port of Beirut.
In the capital of the Lebanese Republic, a strong explosion thundered, which claimed more than a hundred lives, several thousand were injured. Many buildings in the city were damaged, the blast wave collapsed the ruined residential buildings and offices, hospitals were overcrowded due to the large number of victims. About 300 thousand people were left without housing.
“This tragedy has definitely shocked the whole world, we, international students from different countries, share the anguish of bereavement. On such difficult days for Beirut and the entire Lebanese people, we send words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery and fortitude to the wounded and survivors of this terrible tragedy. At the moment, about 100 students from Lebanon are studying at Penza State University. We are very grateful to the Russian Federation, which is already providing humanitarian and medical assistance to the Lebanese people,” said Adel Makbol, Сhairman of the AIS of the Penza region.
