WorldSkills Competence Center was opened at PSU under the national project "Education"
Five modern high-tech workshops on the WorldSkills standards will become the basis for training personnel at the PSU Multidisciplinary College in accordance with modern requirements.
"Machine Learning and Big Data", "Development of Computer Games and Multimedia Applications", "Development of Virtual and Augmented Reality", "Development of Solutions Using Blockchain Technologies", "Development of Mobile Applications" - the size of the grant won by Penza State University within the framework of "Education" national project for the creating workshops, amounted to 37 million 50 thousand roubles.
The purpose of the workshops is to systematically update and modernize the conditions for training highly qualified personnel in the field of information and communication technologies for enterprises and organizations of the Penza region, in accordance with modern standards and advanced technologies.
“The opening of the laboratories is a great event. Students will be able to study using a modern software product. Today it is not just a requirement of the time, it is an opportunity for students to show their worth,” said Ivan Belozertsev, Governor of the Penza Region, at the opening ceremony.
Vladimir Polukarov, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza Region, noted that the creating such laboratories solves an important problem - the maximum approximation of students to practical activities. “I am glad that young people today can both teach and study in such conditions. It requires, of course, a completely different level of training,” said Vladimir Polukarov.
Sergei Vasin, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at PSU, expressed gratitude to the region for supporting the University projects. “This project will make it possible to make the training of IT specialists highly professional, when qualified teachers-practitioners will be able to teach the most modern technologies to our youth correctly and professionally. We are ready to invest in the region and train personnel for our native Penza region,” emphasized Sergei Vasin.
Igor Bochkarev, Technical Director of OOO “Otkrytye Resheniya” (Open Decisions), speaking from the position of a partner-employer, asked his colleagues not to stop there. “All this is being done so that students, upon graduation, could be successfully employed, receive important knowledge and skills. It is necessary to create similar laboratories in other areas of education."
Aleksandr Antonov, Director of the Competence Center, Head of the Informatization Department of PSU, conducted an excursion and demonstrated the possibilities of new workshops to the guests.
For reference: Penza State University won the Competitive selection for the provision of grants from the federal budget in 2020 as part of implementing the event "State support of professional educational organizations in order to ensure that their material and technical base meets modern requirements", the federal project "Young professionals" of the national project " Education” under the state programme "Development of Education ". The amount of the grant is 37,050,000 roubles. This amount includes the funds of the federal budget, the budget of the subject and extra-budgetary funds of PSU. These funds were used to create modern multifunctional workshops for University students, staff, and technology specialists.
