On February 17, IX International Scientific and Practical Conference of International Students "Intercultural Communication in the Modern World" was held at the Institute of International Cooperation of Penza State University in an online format. It was opened by Gleb Vladimirovich Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs.

Plenary reports were made by Hedwig Wagner, Professor at Europa-Universität Flensburg (Flensburg, Germany); Wang Dengdeng and Li Siyu, representatives of Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University (Volgograd, Russia) and Fudan University (Shanghai, China).

More than 100 authors took part in six sections of the conference including students, master’s degree students, post-graduate students and teachers from Russian and foreign universities of Penza, Volgograd, Ulyanovsk, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Astrakhan, Omsk, Ryazan, Shanghai (China) and Flensburg (Germany). The geography of the conference has expanded: the conference participants represented 14 countries of the world: Venezuela, Egypt, India, Jordan, China, Lebanon, Mexico, Mongolia, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and South Africa.
