Anna Timakova, Head of the Department of Literature and Methods of Teaching Literature, made a speech at the forum in Bishkek
On October 21-22, 2021, in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic), Institute for Humanitarian Education and Testing (Moscow), with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, organized a Forum of directors of general education organizations with Russian as the language of instruction in order to consolidate efforts to improve the quality of teaching Russian. promotion, support, preservation and strengthening of the positions of the Russian language and education in Russian in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The speeches of the representatives of the Russian delegation touched upon topical issues of improving the quality of education in Russian in schools with Russian as the language of instruction in a multilingual environment. Anna Timakova, Head of the Department of Literature and Methods of Teaching Literature, Faculty of History, Languages and Literature, made a report prepared jointly with Professor of the same department Galina Prantsova, "Strategies for the formation of reading literacy in the lessons of the Russian language and literature." The text of the speech is included in the international collection of articles prepared on the results of the Forum.
The topics of the forum included a discussion of the current organization of the educational process and the prospects for the development of education in Russian in schools of the Kyrgyz Republic, problems of teaching the Russian language, literature and disciplines in Russian in general educational institutions with Russian as the language of instruction in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic N. N. Udovichenko. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic N.S. Dzhusupbekova, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic V.L. Nefedov, President of the Kyrgyz Academy of Education under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic N.K.Dyusheeva , Head of the Center for Innovative Technologies of the Republican Institute for Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic G. E. Artykbaeva addressed the directors of Kyrgyz schools with the Russian language.
“The topic for the speech was determined by the Kyrgyz side, since increasing the level of reading literacy is among the topical issues for the republic's education system. In 2022, the Kyrgyz Republic will again become one of the countries participating in the PISA program (this is an international programme for assessing educational achievements of students - a test that assesses the functional literacy of schoolchildren in different countries of the world and the ability to apply knowledge in practice). School directors and language teachers of the Kyrgyz Republic responded with great interest to the methodological developments that we offered to their attention, realizing the importance of developing reading literacy and improving the overall educational results of students”, commented Anna Timakova.
As a result of the forum, recommendations were developed for a unified state approach to teaching the Russian language in the Kyrgyz Republic, agreements on cooperation were concluded between educational organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation that carry out the educational process in Russian.
