For the purpose of spiritual and moral development of international students, annually on May 9, the International Students Association of the Penza Region organizes a memorial event “Thank you, veterans!”.

Traditionally, the students lay flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Monument of Military and Labor Glory on Victory Square, paying tribute to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. In 2022, representatives from China, Jordan, Yemen, Iraq, India, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan took part in it.

Gleb Sintsov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that this event plays an important role in the process of spiritual education of the individual: "Victory Day is indeed a holiday with tears in our eyes. This is a day that unites representatives of different peoples of the world. And the participation of international students studying in Penza in the event "Thank you, veterans" confirms this.
